The vision of MedCentral College of Nursing is to provide a well rounded collegiate experience. The College has outgrown an aging building and plans to construct an academic and student services building. Pending the appropriate board approvals, the new $11.6 million facility will join the Mansfield Campus of The Ohio State University and North Central State College.

This 49,000 square-foot building on the Mansfield campus will unite all classrooms and laboratories at one site which benefits the students and faculty of all three institutions. The new campus environment encourages collaboration, networking and sharing resources, including laboratories, a library, a dining hall and various common spaces.

As the demand for nurses continues to increase faster than all the education programs in this country can supply, College President Faye Grund has a plan. “We’ve graduated over 329 bachelor’s prepared nurses. Our desire is to see this tradition of excellence continue into the future and by so doing, to minimize the projected national shortage of nurses in our community.”

With a new, larger, state-of-the-art facility and ideal campus location, MedCentral College of Nursing will be able to attract more students and faculty to the Mansfield area. With an excellent working relationship, clinical opportunities and job transition programs offered by MedCentral Health System, keeping well-trained nurses here in our community is part of our strategic plan.
