The College of Nursing is a private institution of higher education. Evolved from a hospital-based diploma program which was established in 1919, the College was officially founded in 1997 and now offers a baccalaureate degree in nursing. The MedCentral College of Nursing has served the communities of North Central Ohio for more than 90 years and continues to excel in the teaching and training of qualified medical professionals.
The MedCentral College of Nursing is committed to the caring ethic of the profession and to the personal and professional growth of its students. As the environment of health care rapidly evolves, so does our need to prepare a nursing staff that can be of service to a diverse and global society and to our local community. The MedCentral program has grown from about 70 students to more than 400 students today, graduating over 100 nurses a year. Most of our students live in Richland and adjacent counties and many of these skilled nurses stay in our community.
