MedCentral College of Nursing was founded in 1997 as a private institution of higher education offering programs of study leading to the baccalaureate degree in nursing. Our college evolved from a hospital-based diploma program which was established in 1919 by the Mansfield General Hospital. The commitment to nursing education continued with the incorporation of the MedCentral Health System in 1996. Together, the rich tradition of the School of Nursing and now the College of Nursing has served the communities of North Central Ohio for more than 85 years. MedCentral boasts more than 1500 nursing alumni, who are leaders in their profession.
As a coeducational institution, the College of Nursing has the authority to admit both pre-licensure and registered nurse applicants seeking their baccalaureate degree in one of five academic tracks. Throughout your course of study, the student will complete nearly 1000 hours of clinical experience before graduation.
The College is committed to the caring ethic of the profession, to the personal and professional growth of its students, to excellence in teaching, and service to the community. The College prepares individuals who are dedicated to the health of a global and diverse society through their professional practice, leadership and service.
