Program Criteria
Traditional Bachelor’s Degree
Graduation from an approved high school or its equivalent, ranking in the upper half of high-school class, as verified by an official transcript.
Credit for the following high school subjects with a grade of B or better:

- American College Testing Program (ACT) composite score of 21 or better or SAT composite score of 1000 or better. (The ACT/SAT requirement may be waived under special circumstances and is applicable for students who graduated from high school within three years of enrollment at MCN. Results of other scholastic aptitude and achievement tests taken in high school also may be considered.)
- No felony conviction.
- Applications for admission to MedCentral College of Nursing are reviewed on an individual basis, and admission is at the discretion of the Admission and Progression Committee.
- A diploma or Associate’s degree from an accredited program for registered nurses.
- Licensure as registered nurse in the State of Ohio .
- Eligibility to enroll at The Ohio State University .
- Applications will be taken with an announced deadline. Acceptance letters will be mailed.

LPN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- A certificate or diploma from a program of Licensed Practical Nursing
- Licensure as an LPN in the State of Ohio
- Eligibility to enroll at The Ohio State University
- Completed and passed equivalent pre-requisite courses: anatomy; biology; inorganic, organic and biochemisty; physiology, microbiology.
- Applications will be taken with an announced deadline. Acceptance letters will be mailed.
- Applications for admission to MedCentral College of Nursing are reviewed on an individual basis, and admission is at the discretion of the Admission and Progression Committee.
- Credit will be given for the following nursing courses: N110, N225, N230, N250, and N320. Students may obtain credit by examination for N330, N340
Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- A baccalaureate degree with a non-nursing major from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 cumulative GPA .
- Completion of eight prerequisite courses: biology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, ethics, statistics, anatomy, and physiology (The four science courses must have included a laboratory component and must have been completed within the past 10 years).
- Applicants may apply for admission before completing all six prerequisite courses but must have them completed before beginning nursing courses.
