Transfer Students Criteria

Transfer credit may be granted to applicants who have attended an accredited college or university, are applying for readmission to the College, or are returning from a leave of absence. The Admission and Progression Committee will determine transfer credit for nursing and non-nursing courses for admitted students only.

Transfer Credit Criteria

The Admission and Progression Committee uses the following criteria in determining transfer credit:

  • Transfer credit is awarded for courses in which a grade of “C“ or better is earned. Nursing courses considered for transfer may not have a grade less than a "B-".
  • The course content is comparable to courses in the MedCentral College of Nursing curriculum.
  • Prior coursework must be completed at an accredited institution.

Transcripts and course descriptions are evaluated by the Admission and Progression Committee to determine the placement level of the applicant and the need for independent study in selected content areas.

Transfer Credit Application Process

Applicants who wish to be granted transfer credit should supply official transcripts and descriptions of relevant courses from all post-secondary institutions. The Registrar may request copies of course syllabi in the assessment of transfer credit. Unofficial credit evaluations may be requested by prospective students prior to admission, through the admissions office.
